Our Story

The Major Agency Inc is a privately owned independent insurance agency representing Cincinnati Ins, Auto-Owners Ins, Frankenmuth Ins, Society Ins, Pekin Ins, American Service Ins, Progressive Ins, Hartford Ins, Travelers Ins, Safeco and other financially secure insurance companies, giving you greater choice where to place your insurance.

Major Hill Insurance Agency Inc . began in 1960 when Major H. Hill acquired the Robert Bartlett Agency in Fox Lake, Illinois, which he had managed for several years.

Major T. Hill became associated with the agency in July of 1973 and worked there until January of 1980 at which time he established the Major Agency, Inc. in Libertyville, Illinois.

Major Sr. sold his agency to Major Jr. at the time of his retirement in 1997. The combined agencies now operate out of their centralized location in Fox Lake.

Today, the Major Agency, Inc. dba Major Hill Insurance manages risks and saves money for over 2300 clients in the greater Chicago area.

The true measure of success is how many clients is how many of our clients remain Major Hill clients year after year. Let's face it, there is a lot of competition there for your business.

We are very proud of the fact that more than 92% of our clients renew with us each year. The main source of our new business is referrals from satisfied customers.
