Frank G. Shaw, CIC

Frank Shaw is one of the Principals of The Major Agency, Inc. He graduated from St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights, IL. in 1967, then graduated Western Illinois University with a BA in History in 1971. Shaw joined Transamerica Insurance Group in 1972 and served as fieldman calling upon independent agents and brokers in Lake & McHenry County and 13 counties in central Wisconsin. He left Transamerica in March 1976, to join the R.C. Sherman Insurance Service, Inc. agency as a limited partner and commercial insurance specialist. In September 1985 Shaw joined the Major Agency, Inc, Libertyville, IL.
He has served as President of the Waukegan Association of Independent Insurance Agents and the Lake County Association of Independent Insurance Agents. He was chairman of the Commercial Lines Committee and a voting board member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois in 1985, and served as Regional Director for the Big I representing Lake & McHenry County from 1989 through 1993. Frank achieved the CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation back in 2001.
“I have handled accounts in premium ranges of 1K all the way up to $460K.” Shaw said, “I believe in a ‘start from scratch’ approach in dealing with a new client as I do not wish to duplicate and/or perhaps repeat other agents/brokers mistakes.”
